The day before Christmas, 2011, in Grand Marsh, Wisconsin. We have much less snow-cover than normal, but yet there is still enough to make it a little bit white.

Looking back through my journal records, on this day in 2007 I wrote that we got 12 inches of snow and had 45mph winds. The snow just got deeper that winter, 111 inches! Here are a few pics I took then.

The lunar eclipse, moments ago, at 1°F.....

Yup, just another day at the office.......I love it! But I think I need to have a serious talk with the maintenance men, sometimes I have to wear a sweater in my cubicle and when it snows the parking lot is slippery. HOHO!

Since the snow hasn't started piling up yet, I have been taking advantage of this time to cut wood waaaaay out in the brush where I can't get to it in deep snow!

The tree is up. HOHOHO!

What's on my feet?! Well, I call them winter boots. You can't buy the good ones like these at Pamida or Target, you have to go where the real outdoorsman shop (farmers, construction workers, ice fishermen). They keep my feet happy and so am I!

My shadow. I like my shadow. Standing there all by itself in the cold and never once complains. Good shadow, my wood cutting partner.....HA!

It was a little frosty today.

That dead white oak has to come down before it falls in the pond. Today was the day.
