Turn off Windows Updates in Windows 10

You can do this using the Windows Update service. Via Control Panel > Administrative Tools, you can access Services. In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the process. To turn it off, right-click on the process, click on Properties and select Disabled. That will take care of Windows Updates not being installed on your machine.

 

I turned all that Cortona shit off and that seems to have made a big difference.

Windows 10 Anniversary update is the biggest piece of shit since Windows 98.

Wow, I tried restarting it after the update and it wouldn't even boot up. I tired several times and it would hang without loading Windows. Finally got it to boot up in safe mode then uninstalled the updates that it installed today and so far, fingers crossed, it seems to be functioning normally again.

Windows 10 'Happy' Anniversary update my ass. On my Command Center desktop it took three hours and I had to cut the power in the middle of it because it was hung up. That's longer than it took to install the whole stupid Windows 10 operating system on that machine! And I still haven't looked at it to see if it actually worked.....
