5th death tied to July heat in Wisconsin

SPARTA, Wis. (AP) – Another death in Wisconsin has been
attributed to the July heat wave.
The Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center announced Monday that
the Monroe County medical examiner’s office has confirmed the death
of a 65-year-old Sparta woman was heat related.
The woman did not have air conditioning in her home and she also
had an underlying health condition.
The woman died July 23. Officials did not release her name.
The medical examiner’s determination puts the number of deaths
related to the heat wave at five.
The other deaths are an 87-year-old City of Reedsburg woman, an
80-year-old Illinois man who died in Marquette County; a
65-year-old Columbia County man; and an 82-year-old Prairie du
Chien woman.
