The heifer, whose calf died the other day, is sure a kicking bastard! I'm bruises from one end to the other. Nothing this old farmer hasn't seen before. It doesn't help that Surge brand inflations aren't worth a crap and since her tits are so small, the milker falls off of her all by itself, then I have to keep putting it back on and get kicked again. Farm and Fleet brand are half the price and twice as good, but somebody would have to go there and get them for him. Surge brings them to him and installs them so he doesn't have to do anything. Guess which ones I always end up with.

Funny thing is, this heifer is not afraid to step across the gutter like most heifers are when they get in their stanchion. She's still not coming into the barn by herself, but I was able to get her in without too much trouble this morning.

Weather turning arctic again, but only for a day or two. Not too bad here yet, but looks like the front isn't far off.
